After years of trying and billions and billions of pounds spent, Manchester City are finally the champions of Europe.
The Premier League club won the UEFA Champions League on Saturday with a 1-0 victory over Italian giants Inter Milan.
It was a result that many saw coming after the UAE royal family purchased the club in 2008.
Since that point, City has won the Premier League seven and reached the Champions League final in 2021 before being upset by rival Chelsea.
This time, however, the Sky Blues got over the hump.
And while the celebrations all felt a bit sterile, there was one saving grace: Jack Grealish.
Grealish, a 27-year-old midfielder from Birmingham, England, joined the club in 2021 from childhood club Aston Villa. Manchester City paid a reported £100 million fee to acquire his services.
Grealish’s first season with the club didn’t go according to plan, with just three goals and four assists in all competitions. But this time around, he was a much more integral member of the team and, more than anything, provided some glorious vibes.
Those vibes were on full display at City’s championship parade.
Most notably, the English answer to Rob Gronkowski went around all weekend saying “the turkey needs feeding” and then opening his mouth for teammates to pour alcohol into.
All weekend Grealish has been doing this thing where he says “the Turkey needs feeding” and then someone pours vodka down his throat. I’ll probably delete this

Unsurprisingly, the Grealish jokes then took off on Twitter.

Grealish is well and truly a national treasure. While almost no good comes from City winning the Champions League while facing an investigation for widespread cheating, at least we got this out of it.
Other Grealish specials include “Jack Grealish tries to find his hometown on a map of England…”
…and “Jack Grealish is physically incapable of not being Jack Grealish for just five minutes.”
I don’t know what we did to deserve Jack Grealish. But I’m thankful for the ultimate English bro.
