Thanks for the idea, Alex Morgan, but forget drinking tea, we’ve got some free beers coming our way thanks to you and your awesome American teammates!
Which is perfect timing because, in case you haven’t heard, the United States of America turns 244-years-old on Thursday and we have some celebrating of our independence from that very same England to do over the next couple of days.
Oh yeah, about those free beers… we have 100,000 of them coming because Miller Lite heard about Budweiser offering to give away 100,000 free beers to England if their team made it to the FIFA World Cup finals, and decided to do the smart thing and make their own bet on the U.S. Women’s National Team to do the same.
Naturally, our badass American women took down England 2-to-1 on Tuesday, handing them their second consecutive World Cup semi-finals loss, meaning we now get to enjoy our 100,000 free beers and England gets jack squat.

Based on the responses Miller Lite has received on Twitter to them honoring their pledge, it would appear that they made the right move in backing the red, white and blue.
