Real Madrid “fans” on social media, either joking or seriously, have been attacking pop star Olivia Rodrigo on her Instagram comments thinking she’s Manchester City and Spain star Rodri, who recently won the Ballon d’Or.
Earlier this week, the Man City midfielder was awarded the most pretigious individual award in the sport, the Ballon d’Or, which is essentially the MVP of world soccer for the season.
Real Madrid fans — and players, for that matter — believe that Brazilian winger Vinicius Jr. deserved the award and have been causing a stink ever since it was announced that he’d be finishing in second place, with Olivia Rodrigo now being caught in the crossfire.

While Rodri — who somewhat famously does not have any social media — may not be the flashiest, most convincing Ballon d’Or winner, Vini Jr. losing the award is not the robbery that Real Madrid fans and players seem to think it is.
During the 2023/24 season, Vinicius Jr/ had 38 goal and assists, which is only two more than Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez, who is considered to be one of the most mercurial, frustrating forwards in World Football.
As for Rodrigo, she recently attended the premiere of her concert film Olivia Rodrigo: GUTS World Tour on Netflix, which debuted on the streaming service on Tuesday, October 29.
